Yes, I’m back again after 1.5 months of absence here and I have lots to tell you! So let’s jump right into it.

Becoming a Dad of Twins 👶🏼 👶🏽

Yes!! How exciting is that? Jacky and I are becoming parents of twins and as our elders and friends (who have kids) say, things will change.

And of course, they were right. I didn’t think the changes would come up so granular already before the kids arrived on Earth.

This might sound ridiculous for some, but I see a lot of changes in my social media algorithms 😅 I KNOOOOW there are a lot of things changing too but hear me out on this one:

  1. My YouTube-Discover page changed a lot
  2. My TikTok and Reels feed changed a lot
  3. Ads I see on every platform (except on TikTok) changed a lot

And since Social Media is my work too, I noticed these changes.

What else changed (or is changing)

  1. How I see possible obstacles for strollers
  2. How I plan (a little more at least)
  3. How EMOTIONAL I can be (and believe me, I thought I’m already an emotional dude)
  4. And sooo many things which I will be mentioning in future newsletters.
Trying out strollers (it’s like testing a car 😄)

Re-Locating 📍

So, I’ve been in Zurich since 2015, gained some work experiences here at two companies and started Senler Media in 2018 and Senler Media GmbH in 2019. The focus always was: Work, Party, Work, Party, Work, Work, Work — which is absolutely fine. But now, since our apartment is too tiny for a working-couple-from-home and soon-to-be-parents-of-twins, we have to relocate.

Thoughts in this process:

  1. Size of apartment
  2. Price
  3. Near(er) to family and friends
  4. Accessibility
  5. Good connections (motorway and public transportation)

We have found a place and will keep you updated 😊

Running 🏃‍♂️💨

I finished my very first official run since 2018 at the 20th Badener Limmatlauf which was a lovely experience. It was a 13.2 km run, and I started tooooo fast (at 4:32 min/km). However, I finished 50th of my age group with an average pace of 5:28 min/km which I’m really proud of.

First 2 km. Very confident then 😅

Shout out to René Hunger for motivating me to do this run. Contrary, I encouraged him to join me at the Half-Marathon in Lucerne by the end of this month 😁

Running Shoes

I’ve run the Badener Limmatlauf in my Nike Pegasus 38 (bottom left corner), which is an excellent allrounder for a very reasonable price. It feels okay to train in but didn’t hold up as I expected during the race.

However, I’ve started running in my Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% again, which has a carbon plate in it. I have them since this summer, and first, they were a little uncomfortable since they are made for racing and racing training and my overall body and movement weren’t there back then. But now they’re just perfect for me and it seems like they’re “correcting” the way I run (more front foot), turning those runs to faster ones with less effort. 🤯

I guess I’m going to buy another pair of the NEXT% 💸

What else?

  • A lot of beautiful things are happening at Senler Media. Sign up for our newsletter and don’t miss anything.
  • I’m currently reading these three books and can recommend all of them.
  • We finished Mr. Robot on Netflix and I must say, this show is a piece of art. Camera angles, music, stories, just everything. And this show redefines the art of “cliffhangers.” So if you’re interested in a wicked political/hacker/anarchist/schizophrenia-like show — there you go.

Alrighty! That’s it for this issue. I have a lot more to tell but otherwise, this issue will turn into a book, so let’s stop right here.

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for my everyday madness, on LinkedIn for company updates (there is one coming up very soon).

I wish you a good start into the week and want to leave you with this quote by Mathematician and philosopher Gian-Carlo Rota on teaching (which I read in James Clears newsletter):

“A good teacher does not teach facts, he or she teaches enthusiasm, open-mindedness and values.”

I love thinking about social media, tech and business so much, I started companies around those topics and love to talk and teach about them.
